Dr. Shaler was one of only eight Premier Coaches across North America for eWomenNetwork and a founding member of the International Council of Online Professionals. Her PhD is in educational psychology and her intensive training in all aspects of conflict management—negotiation, mediation, anger—was completed at the prestigious Justice Institute of British Columbia. She is the author of more than a dozen books & audio programs as well as many manuals to improve specific ‘people skills'. Her latest business book, Wrestling Rhinos: Conquering Conflict in the Wilds of Work is a handbook for 'people skills'. Her most recent book co-authored with G. Charles Andersen, MA, Soul Solitude: Taking Time for Our Souls to Catch Up was released in January, 2008. Her books have been translated and published in Mexico, Latin America, China, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, Japan, Russia and India, and her numerous articles are published in more than 47,000 web pages and 1000's of ezines around the world.

Dr. Shaler was honoured to be named ‘Outstanding Business Woman of the Year for Southern California’ in 2004 by the American Business Women’s Association.
